Mountains Call me Home pays homage to the land that shaped my youth and the lives of my family for over 4 generations. At the head of the Paterson River is Carrabolla, and the farm which until recently has been held in my family for four-generations.

When my grandma passed away at the beginning of 2024, she took with her countless stories and adventures, all intimately tied to the land, which has always been a central and poignant character in our lives.

Painting Carrabolla, this vessel and setting for both her life and mine, feels like coming home. It brings me back to riding those steep hills on a trusty horse, mustering cattle, cursing a misbehaving cattle dog, or savouring one of Grandma's famous sponge cakes.
